 In 1999 Debra began work with people who suffered from intellectual, developmental, mental health and brain injury. In 2008 Debra started jail ministries at the local GF Corrections. It was through this that God was able to show Debra how valuable each person was in our community and how she could support their goals with their community and families.

After serving the community for over 18 years, Debra was able to start You Shine Too as a Provider in 2017

Jennifer began a 22 year journey working with individuals in the State of Minnesota who struggled with mental health, FAS, brain injury, autism and many other unique people through both direct support and supervision. In 2012 Jennifer completed her degree in Early Childhood Education with a focus on Special Needs and in 2021

Jennifer began a 22 year journey working with individuals in the State of Minnesota who struggled with mental health, FAS, brain injury, autism and many other unique people through both direct support and supervision. In 2012 Jennifer completed her degree in Early Childhood Education with a focus on Special Needs and in 2021 Jennifer completed her degree in Family Development Studies. Through these experiences Jennifer is able to provide quality supportive relationships for participants in You Shine Too.

Employment with You Shine Too can allow you the flexibility to manage your schedule and allow you to continue to reach for your personal and professional goals.  You Shine Too is meeting individuals in our community where they are and walking alongside them to support them in getting what they want out of their life through person centered approaches.


 Peer Support Specialists use their lived experience to support individuals in their community on their journey of recovery.  Lived experience can come from personal or family experience in areas such as substance abuse disorder, mental health disorder, brain injury, etc. 


Peer Support Eligibility Requirements:

  • Become a North Dakota Certified Peer Support Specialist within 90 days of providing services and maintain certification.
  • Complete mandated reporting of vulnerable adults and retain certification.
  • Complete mandated reporting of child abuse and neglect and retain certification.
  • Must pass background check.
  • Not eligible if current Free Through Recovery participant.


Care Coordinators provide a source of connection for community resources with a goal focused approach, assisting individuals in defining barriers, strengths and needs. 


Care Coordinator Eligibility Requirements:

  • Have a degree in a closely related field to the positions responsibility or have one (1) year of experience in a human service setting providing direct services to individuals. 
  • Complete the Care Coordination training provided by the ND Human Services Department.
  • Sign and agree to abide by the Care Coordinator Code of Ethics upon issuance.
  • Complete mandated reporting and retain certification.
  • Complete mandated reporting of child abuse and neglect and retain certification. 
  • Pass agency and state background checks.
